Call: Conception and Production of High-Quality Multimedia Content and Social Media Content

The requirements are divided into two lots. Bidders can send a proposal either for a single lot or for both lots.
– LOT 1: Production of high-quality multimedia content
– LOT 2: Production of social media content exclusively
LOT 1: PRODUCTION OF HIGH-QUALITY MULTIMEDIA CONTENT
SCOPE – Multimedia content production including:
– Concept development and content planning: strategically conceive and pitch audience-driven multimedia content
– Research and scriptwriting
– Autonomous organisation and coordination of regular coverage of NATO activities, missions, operations, training and military exercises;
– Production and post-production until final approval of short, mid-length and long-form video storytelling, including short documentaries (approx. length 9-15 min) mainly conceived for publication on NATO’s Youtube channel;
– Production of the related social media packages (teasers, short versions, Instagram stories) for the promotion of each video produced on other social platforms;
– Production of interviews/soundbites and B-ROLL footage including detailed transcripts and shotlists, for distribution to media;
– Production of photos, including a synopsis and detailed captions
– Building and growing a network of stakeholders within NATO military chain of command, Allied armed forces, and Defence Ministries to facilitate information-sharing, access and coverage.
– Additional web products, such as photo stories or narrative articles accompanying a video, may be requested as purchase options, but should not be included in the main financial proposal.
Travel: NATO estimates the travel frequency to be approximately 3 trips/coverages per month. The number of days on site varies between 1 and 4. In 2023-2024, one out of 10 trips lasted 5 days or more. Requests for urgent coverage (deployment within 24 hours) are exceptional. Most coverage are planned at least 5 days in advance.
Workload: NATO estimates the total workload for LOT 1 at approximately 5 full-time equivalents (FTEs) (Project Manager and Content Producers) and possibly the occasional support of freelancers/fixers/specialised resources.
LOT 2: PRODUCTION OF INNOVATIVE SOCIAL MEDIA CONTENT
BACKGROUND: NATO’s flagship social media channels help deliver NATO’s communication priorities, including those set out in the NATO Communications Strategy describe above, by:
– Providing factual, accurate and timely information about NATO
– Cultivating and sustaining support for NATO
– Fostering dialogue with NATO
NATO’s social media strategy identifies six main objectives:
– Improve understanding of NATO
– Maintain trust and raise support for NATO
– Amplify NATO news to shape and grow online conversation
– Foster dialogue with and within the Alliance
– Nurture NATO’s online community
SCOPE: Lot 2 is exclusively dedicated to the provision of novel and innovative social media content, including but not limited to, vertical video for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts and carousel/graphics.
Social media content production including:
– Ideas development and planning, according to NATO social media and content strategy
– Social content production (video and static), in English and French
– Trend monitoring and development
