The European Commission halted with an immediate effect the tender for the contractor for the project “diversification and promotion of tourism in Crimea.” Explanation? Here is the quote from the decision: „Cancellation under Section 24 of instructions to tenderers ‘exceptional circumstances or force majeure render normal implementation of the project impossible’“.
The call were published last December. The contract was divided into three parts: Lot 1) IT equipment, lot 2) miscellaneous equipment (as outdoor structures as prefabricated mobile constructions and kiosks/outdoor & indoor furniture as bicycle racks/electrical appliances and goods as professional catering/kitchen equipment, generators, refrigerator and conditioning/office furniture and other equipment, etc) and lot 3) touristic signs including sign posts and pointers.
European Union, represented by the European Commission, should be the contracting and financing authority on behalf of and for the account of the beneficiary country, Ukraine.
