Short description: The goal of this research study is to answer a set of questions which will serve the EBCG in the planning of its future AI initiatives. The two main research questions are:
• Which border security areas are expected to benefit the most from AI-based solutions in the short, medium and long term perspective?
• Which new AI concepts, techniques and solutions are expected to have the highest perceived relative advantage for the EBCG community?
Of key relevance for the study will be the acknowledgement and identification of risks and opportunities associated with the existing legal, ethical and technological constraints.
